THE REAL CHALLENGE
Lots of students do fine in primary school, then hit the MYP and feel lost. The MYP doesn't just ask "what do you know?" It asks you to think, explain, and join ideas across subjects. That's a big jump — and most kids meet it with no real guidance.
The marking feels confusing
MYP work isn't graded like a normal test. Each subject is marked against four criteria (A to D), each from 1 to 8. Students often don't know what the criteria are really asking for, so they lose marks without knowing why.
It's a big leap from primary school
The MYP wants longer answers, real thinking, and skills like research and self-management. Many students simply haven't been shown how to do this yet.
The Personal Project feels huge
In the final year, every student plans and builds their own big project. With no one to guide the steps, it can feel scary and overwhelming.
START HERE
"MYP" can sound complicated, but the idea is simple. Here's what the programme is, how the marking works, and the two big things parents ask about most.
IB MYP — the programme
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a five-year course for students aged 11 to 16 — that's MYP 1 to MYP 5, usually Grades 6 to 10. Students study eight subject groups: Language & Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals & Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical & Health Education, and Design. Instead of just memorising facts, students learn to ask good questions, connect ideas, and explain their thinking. The MYP comes after the PYP (primary years) and gets students ready for the IB Diploma (DP).
How MYP marking works (criteria 1–8)
MYP work isn't marked like a normal exam with a single percentage. Each subject is judged on four criteria, called A, B, C and D. Each criterion is scored from 1 to 8. Those scores are added up and turned into a final level from 1 to 7 for the subject. This is why knowing the topic isn't enough — students have to show the exact skills each criterion is looking for.
The Personal Project & eAssessment
In the final MYP year, every student completes the Personal Project: a long piece of their own work they plan, build and reflect on. Some schools also enter students for eAssessment — on-screen exams and ePortfolios at the end of MYP 5 that lead to the official IB MYP Certificate. We help with both, step by step.

WHY ONLINE WORKS
The MYP is all about thinking out loud, getting feedback, and building skills over time. That works beautifully one-to-one on a shared screen. Online lessons aren't a second-best option — they're focused time on exactly what your child finds hard.
🌍
A specialist tutor, wherever you are
In Dubai, Geneva, or a town with no strong IB school nearby, your child still learns with someone who knows the MYP inside out.

We work on your child's real work

WHY WE EXIST
Educifly began with a simple problem. As an IB Mathematics educator, Richa watched bright, capable students lose marks not because they lacked ability, but because no one was teaching them the way the IB actually works — and because good, subject-specialist tutoring was hard to find, especially online.
She built Educifly to fix that across every part of the IB. For the MYP, that means hand-picking tutors who know the programme well and specialise in the subjects students need — so a child in Geneva, Dubai or Singapore gets the same quality of teaching as one in a major IB hub. The mission is the same at every stage: real expertise, one student at a time.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Still wondering about something? Ask us on WhatsApp — we answer quickly.
What is the IB MYP, and who is it for?
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a five-year IB course for students aged 11 to 16 — MYP 1 to MYP 5, usually Grades 6 to 10. Students study eight subject groups and learn to think, research and connect ideas, not just memorise facts. It comes after the PYP and gets students ready for the IB Diploma.
Which MYP subjects can you tutor?
We can help with any of the eight MYP subject groups, including Mathematics, Sciences, Language & Literature, and Individuals & Societies. Your child is matched with a tutor who specialises in the subject they need, so the help is real and specific.
How is MYP work marked?
Each subject is marked against four criteria — A, B, C and D — and each criterion is scored from 1 to 8. Those scores are added together and turned into a final level from 1 to 7 for the subject. We teach students exactly what each criterion is looking for, so they stop losing easy marks.
Can you help with the Personal Project?
Yes. The Personal Project is the big piece of work in the final MYP year. We guide your child through every step — choosing a topic, planning, researching, managing time, and writing the report — so it feels clear and doable instead of overwhelming.
Do you help students get ready for MYP eAssessment?
Yes. For schools that do eAssessment, we help students prepare for the on-screen exams and ePortfolios that lead to the IB MYP Certificate, with plenty of practice so the real thing feels familiar.
My child is new to the IB. Can you help them settle in?
Definitely. Moving into an IB school can feel confusing at first. We explain how the MYP works in simple terms, help with the new way of writing and thinking, and get your child feeling at home quickly.
My child studies at an international school abroad. Can you still help?
Yes. All lessons are online, so we support MYP students across Europe, the UAE, Asia and international schools worldwide, including families relocating mid-year.
Book a free trial lesson. We'll meet your child, look at what they find hard, and show you exactly how we'd help — no pressure, no commitment.
